CAFE CANTE TONIGHT! JOIN US!

WE HAVE A BRAND NEW CAFE CANTE VENUE! Open to the public, we've moved our Cafe Cante Nights to the Funky Buddha on Whyte Avenue (10341 - 82nd Avenue, upstairs)! Join us for singing, guitar, practising palmas, or even dance! Have a coffee, a drink, or a bite to eat! Meet the local flamencos!

AS WELL AS ALL OF THAT, Flamenco Society Board Member, Irena Dumicz, will be teaching us a brand new Tangos de Triana letra by Miguel Poveda Real, Triana, Puente y Aparte, as shown in the YouTube video here:

Come and learn to sing it, or just do palmas! (And if you don't know how to do palmas, we'll show you!)

Hope to see you there! Olé!

Flamenco Flashmob 2018!

In advance of our festival April 18 – 22, the Edmonton Flamenco Festival is bringing our 2018 flamenco flashmob to life! We plan to meet up and perform together in various public places leading up to the festival. Hope to see you there!

Our experienced flashmob dancers from the fall are offering two 1.5 hour classes for anyone wanting to learn the choreography.

Stephanie Pedraza is offering a 1 hour cante and palmas group class via Skype for anyone wanting to practice singing and/or clapping.

Class dates: Feb. 2  and Feb. 4

All levels welcome. Some basic previous flamenco dance experience is required for the choreography classes. Have you taken a session of flamenco before? If you've got some basic arms and have done a bit of choreography, you'll be able to follow along. More advanced? There's a lot of opportunity to put your own flair into the choreography.

Don’t have any flamenco experience? Join us for the cante and palmas class and participate as one of our rhythmic clappers.

If you’re interested in joining the upcoming classes please let us know at the link below by January 29th.
