The Telematic Flamenco Guide produced by Tourismo Andaluz in collaboration with the Biennial Flamenco Exhibition is a good starting point for information about Flamenco history and forms (palos). The site includes audio samples and descriptions of many common and less-common Flamenco forms. In addition to this site, sites such as Flamenco.ca offer a range of listings related to flamenco.

Vinok Worldance: Romany Blues - May 18&19, 2007

Flamenco Beat Radio Station

Flamenco Beat is an excellent internet radio station run by Vancouver-based Flamenco singer and aficionado Pirouz Ebadypour. Music ranges from traditional puro Flamenco to contemporary Spanish Flamenco. Flamenco Beat is affiliated with Flamenco.ca, a Canadian site that provides information about local events around Canada and more. Look for both of these links in the permanent "Links" section on this site.

Onda Jerez Television

Onda Jerez provides a live internet broadcast direct from the town of Jerez de la Frontera in southern Spain. Aside from Spanish soap operas, programming also includes some Flamenco shows and coverage of special events and festivals in Jerez. Dance Workshop - Esperanza Duarte Linares. May/June 2007

Esperanza began studying Flamenco at the age of 15 in Seville, Spain, and has studied with such artists as Manolo Marin, Juana Amaya, and Concha Vargas. She founded her own school of Flamenco in Dublin, Ireland where she taught and performed regularly before coming to Canada.

The Workshop: This workshop is a General level for Beginners of Flamenco who already have some experience, and Intermediate/Advanced students looking to improve all aspects of technique and performance.

When: 1:00-3:00. Sundays May 6, 13, and 27th (**Note change: no workshop on the May long weekend**), June 3.
Where: Marr-Mac Dance Studio, 8627 109 street. (Under The Movie Studio)
Cost: $130 for the session, or $35 drop-in. Drop-ins welcome.
